Rachael Sage

Named “One of the Top 100 Independent Artists Of The Past 15 Years” by Performing Songwriter Magazine, Rachael Sage combines top-notch musicianship with hilarious between-song banter, what The New York Times recently dubbed Sage's "inner Fanny Brice". Her songs were recently in the 2009 film, “FAME” and also in MTV’s “Taking The Stage”.

Now her newest album, DELANCEY STREET, is making its debut. Mixed by Grammy winner, Kevin Killen (Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, Prince), DELANCEY STREET showcases Sage’s innovative alt-pop at a breakout moment in a “frighteningly diverse” career. (The Washington Post) The two-time Independent Music Award winner turned to her immigrant Jewish heritage and the prospect of moving from the East Village Manhattan neighborhood she'd lived in for over a decade for a source of inspiration for her latest album DELANCEY STREET. Inspired by the Green Movement and her own very personal desire to “redefine what ‘environment’ means to me”, Sage decided to give herself exactly a year to let go of over a decade’s worth of accumulated miscellanea, and to move to the musically vibrant Lower East Side.

"Self-taught pianist, poet and producer Rachael Sage radiates what MOJO Magazine calls "warm, intelligent... New York indie charm". An innovative, improvisational keyboardist, she performs oer 150 dates a year throughout North America, Europe and Asia. Recently named one of the Top 100 Independent Artist Of The Past 15 Years by Performing Songwriter magazine, Sage has shared the stage with Marc Cohn, Ani DiFranco, Colin Hay, The Animals, and Judy Collins. A Grand Prize Winner in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest as well as a two-time Independent Music Award and OUTMusic Award winner, Rachael recently released her 9th album, "Delancey Street". Described as an "album about change" and inspired by Sage's ancestral and current home, New York's Lower East Side, the record features eleven orginial compositions, plus inspired covers of Hall & Oates' classic 'Rich Girl', as well as Sage's understated rendition of 'Fame' (iTunes exclusive). A musical exploration of identity and cultural heritage, 'Delancey Street' is in stores now and available on iTunes & Amazon."
