Molly Geissman – Artist Statement

I am obsessed with the organic circular. This is an image buried deep in my 1950’s past and is the driving psychological energy behind my art making. I aspire to create works which convey this energy and passion to the viewer.

I am fascinated by line and marks made by the soul of the hand. I do not plan/sketch out my paintings. The spontaneous energy of that process is directly in the work and that is what I find most precious about art.
