Mary Farmer - Artist Statement

This Jewelito (little jewels) series intends to take the viewer beyond the usual to place of quiet contemplation. You are invited to enter this small jewel of a space and let your mind roam free. Free from the daily distractions and interferences; allow yourself to mentally bend and stretch here.

For me, abstraction provides a direct relationship between viewer and artist. Many times I note a physical response to my work, in most cases it’s a desire to reach out and touch the work. I relish that experience.
