Lynette Haggard– Artist Statement

Rhythmo Box Series
Rhythmo boxes have a confusing context. While being a dimensional, structural object, their surfaces are about rhythmic, scored marks into plaster and wax. With no indication of how to enter or open the box, the viewer is left with her own interpretation of what lies within. Perhaps it’s only about what you can see or sense. These pieces were a natural transition from textural surface paintings.
