Lisa
Marie Sipe - Artist Statement
I am interested in capturing incidents of abstraction in flat planes of pigment while treating my surface as a three-dimensional space. I apply hard-edge painting techniques to a synthesized subject to reference the ideologies of our consumer culture. I find inspiration in everything from fat drippings to water stains.
