Lauri Slenning – Artist Statement

These chickens are part of a new series for me which encompasses a broad range of interests and artistic concerns. Basically they combine my lifelong love of birds, a social and political interest in human beings and what our relationship with nature says about us, and an ongoing artistic preoccupation with formal issues, materials and craftsmanship.
