Cari Hernandez – Artist Statement

This human existence is about the experiences that we participate in...our ability to feel the love, joy, fear and loss that we are a part of...and incorporate the variance into each journey of expression, always connecting the return trajectory to the beginning.

My work takes shape in thoughts, ideas, and materials- often utilizing wax, oil, fiber, cloth -My expression stretches out along an aesthetic that explores those themes of faith, courage, joy, pleasure - sometimes the journey goes way off course- yet always finding its way home.
